How the CFA Holiday Hand Up Project was birthed...

​

While Grace was in school in 1998, she met Diane, a brilliant, vibrant leader in the spiritual and medical community. At the time Grace was a single mother with no chid support and no family in town, she grew up 2000 miles away.

Diane enrolled her mother to help create an amazing holiday for Grace’s two children, 7 and 9 at the time. Diane spent hours at toys r us to make an amazing holiday for the children. She got everything on their wish list.

This generous act of service was a miracle for Grace and her children & inspirid Grace to help others every Holiday since. She felt the powerful gift that was brought to her small family that Christmas, and the difference it made for her. She wanted to pay it forward and help others have a more abundant holiday .

Diane’s generosity, kindness and love were the inspiration for Center for Awakening's annual Holiday Hand up since 1999. We choose from 10-20 families in need; whether homeless or simply struggling financially.

For each child in the family we provide a toy, an outfit, shoes and food for the family for the holidays. 

​

From 1999 to 2025 we estimate over 500 families and 1,500 children helped for the holidays.
